Alone Again
[Alone]
$500.00

These amazing living quarters was real and probably remains to this day. It has likely been assembled and standing for many years from resources that could be scavenged locally. It was an old trailer sandwiched between two shacks. How the antenna was used and the source of electric power to enable it to operate remained a mystery. The landscape was quite clean and free of debris and litter. The outside cooking grill was a means of cooking, perhaps the only means. There appeared to be some type of indoor washing equipment. There was one nearby newer house in the area but nothing else nearby. The landscape was quite barren however; there was one garden behind the living quarters with vegetables. The place did not appear to be abandoned. The front and back shacks showed significant signs of aging and deterioration. This was an existing structure though some details were not included to allow the privacy of the inhabitants to remain anonymous.

The pencil drawing was done in two point perspective. The right and left vanishing points were located off the side of the paper. The shading and shadows capture the angle of the sun emanating from the upper right. The drawing was initially done in pencil on 11 inch by 14 inch 90 pound acid free paper.

THE ARTIST?S IMPRESSION: The name reflects my perception of a sole individual living a very reclusive yet contented life in this isolated region, yet able to support themselves with meager possessions. Though the lack of luxuries is clear, there appears to be peace and an atmosphere of pride that for some reason is quite evident.
